The sun rises over the radiant dunes as our off-road vehicle charges up and glides down the gentle sand slopes like waves. By evening, a glass elevator whisks me up to the 148th floor of the Burj Khalifa, looking down at a city of lights stretching into infinity. Dubai never sleeps, and it never lets its visitors sleep either.
